'Will no one rid me of this troublesome priest?' asked a riled up Henry II to a roomful of knights as he raged at the latest news of his one time bosom friend, Thomas Becket the Archbishop of Canterbury. It was not long before Becket was slain a martyr in his own cathedral and a medieval icon was born. Talking of medieval icons and bosom friends, Anthony is joined today by Eleanor Janega from our sister podcast 'Gone Medieval'! This episode was edited by Hannah Feodorov. Produced by Stuart Beckwith. The senior producer was Freddy Chick.
