Store fears for footfall after entrance boarded up

The director of a store which has been in Loughborough for more than one hundred years says he's worried about falling customer numbers after their main entrance doors were partly boarded up as part of development work. The main entrance to Tylers Department Store is through the Carillon Court Shopping Centre, which developers plan to partly demolish to build student accommodation. Steve Tyler, a director of the store told BBC Leicester reporter Heather Burman he fears the boarding will affect trade. A spokesman for the developers Leicester Commercial Ltd said the store had already been given 18 months notice to reconfigure its entrance.
