House Prices, Luxury Watch Repairs, Clothes Shopping

You and Yours

Available for over a year

According to RightMove, asking prices were cut by sellers on more than 3000 properties a day during September. The data shows that prices were cut by an average of 7%. However, with mortgage rates continuing to rise, will this help buyers? We've been contacted by a number of listeners who have valuable watches that are being held by luxurywatchrepairs.com. Our listeners had sent off their watches and paid up-front to have them fixed or serviced, but the company has held on to them for longer than promised and isn't answering emails, or phone calls and won't agree to meet customers in person. Some of these watches are worth tens of thousands of pounds and hold huge sentimental value, so what can you do if a company holds your property and stops engaging with you? Where are we buying our clothes? Twenty years ago, we might have favoured a specific shop like M&S, Next or Topshop. Today, our wardrobes can be assembled from all over the place and data suggests the UK clothing market is becoming increasingly fragmented, with consumers mixing price points, platforms and retailers in search of value, quality and convenience. In the UK, private parking firms hand out about 45,000 tickets per day, which is the equivalent of one every two seconds. According to The Daily Telegraph, the number of parking fines has more than doubled since the pandemic. We'll hear from a listener that received a parking ticket in Hull, East Yorkshire, despite being in her car in South London at the time. PRODUCER: CHARLIE FILMER-COURT PRESENTER: WINIFRED ROBINSON
