Jamie interviews director Grant Gee and lead actor Anders Danielsen Lee about Everybody Digs Bill Evans, a new biopic on the influential jazz pianist. The film takes place just after the famous Bill Evans Trio concert at the Village Vanguard club in New York in 1961. It was the last time the band played together as, tragically, bassist Scott LaFaro died in a car crash soon after. Recordings from that show became the landmark jazz albums Sunday At The Village Vanguard and Waltz For Debby. Elsewhere, Jamie plays classics from Wes Montgomery, Toots Thielemans and Helen Merrill with Clifford Brown. New music from Nico Widdowson, aron!, Jordan Rakei and Wonky Logic. Produced by Folded Wing for BBC Radio 2.
