Three hours of classical sparkle

Sunday Morning

Available for 29 days

This week, Petroc Trelawny sits in for Sarah Walker with a playlist full of musical journeys and far-flung inspiration, taking us from Beirut and Oklahoma to the banks of the Rhine - with a few intriguing detours along the way. There’s music from tenor Karim Sulayman and guitarist Sean Shibe, the unmistakable swagger of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Oklahoma!, and Wagner takes us on Siegfried’s spectacular journey down the Rhine. Also, this week’s Choral Reflection features music by the award-winning British composer Christopher Churcher. And if you have time to linger a little longer, Petroc has the whole of Schubert’s joyful Third Symphony too, in a glorious recording from the Staatskapelle Dresden under Herbert Blomstedt. A Tandem Production for BBC Radio 3.
