Wales' performance in international tests for 15-year-olds has fallen further behind other UK nations. Thousands of students sit PISA tests every three years, measuring pupils' performance in maths, science and reading compared to other countries. Wales has fallen, but teenagers' reading skills are also falling around the world. The tests have shown that in a decade, around two school years have been lost. Mothers have described being left to recover from caesarean sections with "no support" as the number of babies being born via C-sections reaches its highest rate on record. Latest figures show 42% of babies in Wales were born by C-section last year, with just over half of those operations being emergencies.
