Reform UK leader Nigel Farage has announced he will resign as an MP to fight what he describes as a "people versus the establishment" byelection in Clacton. His resignation comes amid scrutiny over undeclared donations, as a parliamentary investigation is underway to establish whether he broke any rules. Farage intends to fight to remain as an MP, but none of the other major parties will run against him in the Clacton byelection. Labour's Yvette Cooper has described it as a "political stunt", and Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch described it as a "fake election... to distract people from what is happening".
