Jess Gillam hosts a listening party with the Welsh harpist and composer Catrin Finch. In her early twenties, Catrin served as Royal Harpist to H.R.H. The Prince of Wales and has gone on to push the boundaries of her instrument. Her musical curiosity has led her to numerous cross-genre collaborations, including with Colombian joropo group Cimarron, Irish violinist Aoife Ní Bhriain, and Senegalese kora virtuoso Seckou Keita, with whom she won Best Group at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards in 2019. Catrin has performed with many of the world’s leading orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the Academy of St Martin in the Fields and the English Chamber Orchestra. Catrin's musical picks include a romantic song by Dvořák, a riotous Colombian track, and RAYE blending pop and symphonic sounds. Jess brings along a Swedish polka reimagined by Martin Fröst, a dreamy piano piece by Kristina Arakelyan, and a vintage jazz track from Oscar Peterson.
