Acoustic sounds. Sam Carter salutes Nic Jones

The Folk Show with Mark Radcliffe

Available for 29 days

The best folk and acoustic music. This week, guitarist and singer Sam Carter describes the musical powers of his idol, Nic Jones. Nic Jones is one of Britain's most outstanding guitarists and ballad singers. After making a mark on the scene, Nic had his career halted by a serious car accident in 1982. Despite this, his recorded playing and singing would influence future performers, not least Sam. Sam joins Mark to talk about his new album, 'Sam Carter Sings Nic Jones: Live At Celtic Connections', and explains why Nic's artistry continues to inspire. Plus, music for the summer solstice, and details of next week's 21st Century Folk. Produced in Salford by Pomona Audio for BBC Radio 2.
