This Spiritual Life guest is best known as one half of the immensely popular duo, The Hairy Bikers. Si King spent decades travelling the world on his motorbike alongside his best friend Dave Myers. Early on in his life, he learnt about loss, resilience and responsibility, after his Dad passed away when Si was just 8 years old. He talks to Cathy about his many journeys – physical and spiritual. Across the BBC this week, Caring Matters is shining a light on the realities of care and caring; from those supporting loved ones day to day to the wider systems around them. Caring Scotland is a National Theatre of Scotland project capturing the voices of care-experienced people. Lead artist Nicola McCartney and contributor to the project, Beth-Anne McDowall tell Cathy about the project. And Aziz Abu Sarah, a Palestinian peacebuilder and Maoz Inon, an Israeli peace activist have chosen to centre their work and their lives, around peace. They talk to Cathy about their book, The Future Is Peace. Cathy’s Faith forum panel this week is David Goodman, member of the Jewish Progressive Community in Scotland, Yahya Barry, Islamic Scholar and Rosa Murray, educationalist and practising Catholic. Together they’ll discuss the ethics of the reality show genre following the revelations of sexual assault on Channel 4’s ‘Married At First Sight’. Also, as part of the newly launched National Conversation, people across the UK are being urged to share their vision for how their community and country's future should look. Our panel will unpack what that might look like and is it enough to affect real change. And the UK’s first ever Jewish Culture Month will bring together more than 150 events across the country - from food and music to literature, fashion and film.
