The BBC Food and Farming Awards 2026 will be held at Titanic Belfast in October 2026. Eve will join the judging panel for the new Food Hero Award, which is being launched on this programme. She speaks to fellow judges Jaega Wise from The Food Programme on BBC Radio 4, and our very own Chef Paula McIntyre from the Balmoral Show, to find out what makes this such an outstanding place for food and farming. Plus, there’s an exhibition exploring what life was really like in the 1980s, revealing how it may have been County Down’s most unforgettable decade. We also hear about a special dawn chorus event, and about rare-breed pigs living on Inishcorkish Island, which is being opened to the public for the very first time. And, as the RNLI relaunches its Float to Live campaign, Eve discovers the importance of water safety by taking a dip in Portrush Harbour. To nominate for this year's awards go to bbc.co.uk/foodawards where you can find the terms and privacy notice. Nominations are open from 6am 22 May 2026 to 12pm 15 June 2026.
