Cathy MacDonald

Sunday Morning

Available for 29 days

Cathy’s This Spiritual Life guest is Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Amy Grant. From singing hymns in church as a child to worldwide success as an adult, Amy shares a life of adversity that includes personal heartbreak, public scrutiny and major health challenges. From Jakarta to Edinburgh: the writer Tari Lang shares her incredible teenage escape story from an Indonesian military coup in the 1960s, in which she became separated from her parents, who were arrested and imprisoned. And the fantasy comedy TV series Good Omens returns for a final series. TV reviewer Gareth K Vile delivers his verdict. Cathy’s Faith forum panel this week is the Reverend Bryan Kerr - parish minister of Kilmacolm Parish Church - and the Very Reverend Sally Foster Fulton - UK and global churches ambassador for Christian Aid, and former moderator to the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland. Together, they’ll discuss what’s on the agenda at the Church of Scotland’s General Assembly – a meeting of Kirk leaders and decision makers. Up for discussion is the mental health and wellbeing of church ministers, and a proposal to apologise for the Church’s historical links to slavery. And after a certain historic match between football teams Celtic and Heart of Midlothian, they’ll dwell on the emotional rollercoaster that is winning and losing.
