Gravity, Agnes Owens centenary, and The Britpop Show

This week, iconic Broadway and West End performers Kerry Ellis, Louise Dearman and Rachel Tucker bring their show Gravity to Edinburgh and Glasgow. They all have a strong relationship with the musical Wicked, with Ellis playing the first British Elphaba in Wicked, Dearman being the first and only performer to play both Elphaba and Glinda in Wicked, and Tucker playing Elphaba on both Broadway and the West End. Kerry and Louise will be chatting about the show and their onstage experiences. A new cultural programme celebrating the centenary of Scottish writer Agnes Owens will take place across Milngavie and Alexandria from April to June. Curated by The Agnes Owens Archive (AOA) custodian Sorcha Dallas, the programme includes a series of exhibitions, workshops and a major book launch event marking reissued titles of Owens’s work. Sorcha will join Len to tell her more and why Agnes Owens deserves to be remembered 100 years after her birth. And award-winning writer, comedian and music journalist Marc Burrows talks about bringing The Britpop Show - a multimedia stand-up celebration of one of Britain’s most iconic and chaotic musical eras to Edinburgh and Glasgow at the end of the month.
