Every year, on one day in June, mayflies live, dance, mate and die above the Tisa River. A married couple go to Serbia to witness the natural wonder. The writer Vesna Goldsworthy comes from Belgrade. Her books include a memoir, Chernobyl Strawberries, and the London-based novels Gorsky and Monsieur Ka. Her latest novel, Iron Curtain, was published in 2022.
