Anthony attained cult status in Buffy the Vampire Slayer playing Rupert Giles, Buffy's Watcher who poses as Sunnydale High School's librarian. Since Buffy, the smooth-talking Gold Blend man of the 80s has starred in BBC dramas such as Manchild, MI5, Spooks, Monarch of the Glen and Little Britain. He also starred as Mr Finch in episode three of the 2006 series of Doctor Who, entitled School Reunion. Proceeds will go to The Gambia Horse and Donkey Trust charity, of which Anthony is a patron. The Trust works to ensure the animals on which farmers in that area of Africa depend on for their livelihood can perform to the best of their ability. The lucky winner of the auction will receive Anthony's Giles jacket from the season five episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer entitled Family, together with a certificate of authenticity. The runner-up will receive a copy of the new book by Anthony's partner, Sarah Fisher, Know Your Horse Inside Out, which will be signed by both Sarah and Anthony. |
