The Day I moved
Kirsty Purves
2001
It seemed not long ago since the last time we moved but I suppose it was only about a year. The 5th of October (2001). We were packing our stuff into the van. After a couple of trips that was us. We were in our new home.
When we first moved out from Livingston I knew it was only going to be temporary. We moved out to be closer to our family in Dalkeith. We were living in a small flat, but we knew we were going to move again. My mum was shown a few houses but none of them were right or in the right area. When she was shown the one were in she knew it was the best shed seen.
My older sister was seven and I was six but we still had a good idea of what was going on. My brother was nine so had a better understanding of it all. We had only been there a year and then my little brother was born.
I remember cycling to my new house with my brother and sister and my gran was walking with us. I cant describe how excited I was. This is a memory that will stay with me for the rest of my life.
All of my friends live quite close so that is good one of my best friends is my neighbour so we see each other even more.
I am now twelve nearly thirteen and am more than happy about moving. There isnt a great deal of things to do were we live but me and my friends always find something.
