Days like this

One of my most vivid memories happened on a warm sunny day last summer. It started in the afternoon when I received a phone call from my friend, Katy asking me if I wanted to go on a walk to the woods with her and Sam. I agreed to go, I went and told my mum I was going and I started walking down the village to meet them.
We all met outside the church and agreed on the route we'd take, we all started walking. As we were walking we could hear birds singing. It was a really warm day. We were just laughing and joking around as we started wandering up the narrow steep lane. We were all walking in a line when Sam started nudging me and Katy, we all looked up and saw a big bulldog about two metres in front of us.
We all started to panic especially me and Katy. Sam started to tell us that he had read loads of spy magazines and all we had to do was get a piece of meat and shuck it through a window, me and Katy just stared at him and told him to shut up but he also told us that we had to be as still as possible and not make any loud noises.
After being told that Katy just started, screaming and started running towards the nearest field and climbed over the fence and into it. This left me and Sam standing staring. The bull dog started running towards us and started to bark really loudly, so we started to run after Katy into the field. The bulldog was still chasing us but we dived over the gate and into the field just in time.
The bulldog couldn't get through the fence but we still ran as far as the field went. As we were running we could hear the bulldogs bark getting quieter and quieter until we couldn't hear it at all. We all stopped running. At the bottom of the field there was a fence that we climbed on and sat up there for a while as we rested. We were all puffing and panting but we all stared at each other and started laughing.
We looked round and noticed that we were on private property and looked and saw three people walking our way, our hearts started beating really fast. The people got closer then we noticed that it was only our friends we were so relieved. We told them the story about the bulldog.
After we told them we thought we better go back to the lane. We said bye to our friends and headed back up the field to the lane. When we got back to the lane the bulldog had gone but we were still very cautious and walked as fast as we could until we reached the woods.
When we reached the woods we walked in and went to the rope swing and Sam started swinging on it. While He was swinging on it me and Katy wandered off, we reached a fence leading into a swampy bit, I started climbing over it when Katy started shouting and saying I was standing on a skull but I didn't bother looking down because I didn't believe her, but she kept on saying I was standing on a skull.
I looked down and noticed that I was standing on a skull I screamed and climbed back over. Me and Katy had stood and screamed for ages when Sam came running down wandering what we were screaming about. He asked us what we were screaming about so we told him about the skull and he went over and looked, he came back and told us that it was a cows skull.
Me and Katy just screamed again and ran back to the top end of the woods. We all played hide and seek for a while and got a bit bored so we decided that we should just head back. We thought it would be best to go another way back. We all went back to my house for a drink and then talked for a while afterwards. Afterwards we all said bye and Katy and Sam headed off to their houses.
That was one of my best memories and one of my best summers.
