Emily Kelly

I was sitting in hospital, we were waiting to see if my arm was broken, and we were sitting laughing because a doctor had came in to examine my arm and I was wearing that white shirt thing that they always make you wear when you're in hospital. My mum had made me take my bra off before I'd put the shirt on so the strap wouldn't show up on the x-ray and when the doctor came in to look at my shoulder, he pulled the top of the shirt down a bit too far and just about revealed everything. Tarryn - my best mate that had been there when I fell out the tree - had been holding her breath and trying not to burst out laughing, and I'd been sitting there smirking and sniggering every two seconds.

We had been walking round the loch to my house to find two of our friends; Jordan and Josh. We stopped at the big tree with the rope swing because we knew they normally went there when Josh was at Jordan's house. A couple of other people came so we went to sit just a little bit up the tree and chat. We were getting back down about fifteen minutes later, Tarryn got down first, then when I was climbing down, my foot slipped, I was left dangling in the air! I started squealing and laughing and joking with Tarryn until - all I can remember is - I screamed. Apparently I was curled up in a bail on the ground.

"No, my clip!" I shouted.

"Are you alright?" I heard Tarryn saying.

"I can't move my arm!" I cried.

"It's OK, just try," She said.

"But I can't!" I said, trying my hardest to move it just a little bit. She managed to drag me over to the nearest of three logs. "I can't move my arm!!" I cried again. "Do you think it's broken?"

"No, You've probably just dislocated it, don't worry, you'll be fine," she told me, giving me a cuddle. But I could tell what she was really thinking. "Come on let's get you home."

"But what about my clip?" I sobbed. It was my favourite hair clip that came out of my hair when I hit the ground.

"We'll get it later, c'mon," said Tarryn.

I can't remember much about the walk home, apart from feeling really dizzy at the park. It was just after that I saw my uncle and he walked us the rest of the way home with Tarryn telling him what had happened.

When we got home, Mum and Dad were wondering whether to take me to A&E or not, but decided it was best to be on the safe side. There was a lot of waiting, but finally, the x-rays revealed that my arm was broken. My arm was put in a sling and we finally got home for dinner at about 22.30!!
