A Special Day

Edward Booth

My special day was on the 31st of august 2006, when me and my family moved to our new farm Mainhill. It will be a day I will remember for ever. In the morning I got up and I was nervous because I had never moved house before. Everybody helped get the furniture into the removal van. I liked the little lift at the back. That was cool until I nearly broke my mums toe by putting the lift down on it. Once we have finally finished my dad, my brother and my granddad drove up to unload. Me, my mum and my sister carol drove up the car. After a two hour drive we finally got there. Me, my brother George and Carol all ran to the bedrooms choosing who had which bedroom. My mum and my dad got the biggest and my sister got the second biggest and my brother got the third biggest. But guess who got the smallest..... ...ME. After that we all got the furniture in the house into the right place. Later that day all the 82 milk cows and 50 young stock came on the double Decker cattle wagon. The parlour was put in while we were back in our old house. So we put the cows into the sheds and fed them. Then it was dinner time, I was hungry. That afternoon me and my family were tidying the house. At 5°clock it was milking time. It was the first time my dad has used the parlour. But read the instructions and away he went. While he was doing the milking I was lighting the fire so we could sit in front of it when our work was done. But before that we had to have our tea so we had chicken curry. We went to bed tired, happy and exited for the next day.
