US fighter jet downed in Iran
A search and rescue effort is underway
Iran has shot down a US fighter jet over the west of the country. US officials say one member of the crew has been rescued but the fate of the second is unclear. President Trump has been briefed on what happened. Iranian state media have published pictures and videos showing parts of what appear to be an F-15E jet. We speak to our correspondent from BBC Persian and military analyst Mikey Kay.
Iran has continued its attacks on its Gulf neighbours, even as President Trump threatened to escalate the US military campaign against Iran.
