US deadline to secure Congressional approval on Iran war passes

President Trump needs to secure approval for military action lasting over 60-days.

The deadline for President Donald Trump to secure authorization from Congress to continue the war against Iran has just passed. Defence Secretary, Pete Hegseth argued the 60-day clock was paused under the ceasefire. This comes as military plans for a 'lightning' strike were apparently presented to the president. We speak to a former NATO commander.

One of the world's biggest producers of fertiliser has said that the interruption to supply and production caused by the US-Israeli war on Iran is jeopardising global food production.

And the jihadist group that led large-scale attacks around Mali earlier this week has called for the country to unite to overthrow the military government.
