President Uhuru Kenyatta discusses the new deal which will allow unemployed Kenyan nurses and healthcare workers to work in the United Kingdom. Speaking to BBC Africa’s Sophie Ikenye at the Global Education Summit in London, the president called the accord a “win-win”, adding, “we are producing more nurses every year than we can absorb.”
Plus, diplomatic efforts are underway to ensure that vital food and humanitarian aid reaches Ethiopia’s Tigray region. UN humanitarian chief Martin Griffiths is on a visit to the country, to plead for better access.
