
Zambia: Political violence ahead of August’s elections
There’s been a rise in political violence ahead of Zambia’s August elections with President Edgar Lungu threatening to intervene to quell the violence.
We hear from Laura Miti from the organisation Alliance for Community Action in Zambia. There have been incidents of politically-motivated violence in the country ahead of elections taking place in August. President Edgar Lungu says the government will step in to quell the unrest if the police and electoral commission are unable to.

And we meet the 20-year-old Tanzanian who has become the youngest African woman to climb the world’s tallest mountain.
