World leaders discuss climate change
Reports and analysis of the day's political, economic and sports news from across Africa.
As world leaders participate in a global summit aimed at reducing climate change on World Earth Day, Ugandan plastic pollution activist Nirere Sadrach tells Focus on Africa about what he’d like them to agree on. Sub-Saharan Africa is particularly affected by climate change, even though the region is one of the lowest contributors to its causes.
Plus, Ethiopia’s state-run human rights commission says local government officials had to flee Sedal in the western state of Benishangul-Gumuz, and that an armed group is now in near total control of the area.
And we hear from Adulphina Imuede, one of a new generation of visual artists in Nigeria who are using social media platforms to promote their work.
