Why should we give peas a chance?
The average british person consumes four times less peas than back in 1975.
Data from the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs shows the average Brit consumed just 37g of peas per week last year, down from 144g eaten by people in 1975.
The collapse in consumption raises fears for UK farmers who rely on pea production for their income, so why should we give peas a chance?
Chef and pea enthusiast Judy Lin says picking up a bag of frozen peas in the weekly shop is just as important as picking up a carton of milk.
