Actor and rapper Ben Bailey Smith: ‘I’m never leaving London, where would I go?’
Ben says he’s determined to bring his kids up in the city. He spoke to Robert in 2016.
Professionally known as Doc Brown, Ben Bailey Smith is one of the UK’s most versatile and talented creatives.
His career began as a rapper, touring with Mark Ronson, before going into stand-up comedy in 2007. He went on to make a name for himself as a stand-up, touring internationally under the alias of Doc Brown, before diversifying into TV and film acting, screenwriting and children’s picture books and novels.
Raised in Willesden in north-west London, Smith is the younger brother of novelist Zadie Smith.
