'Greatest storyteller of our time' inspires artist

A wildlife artist from Leicester has created a new portrait of Sir David Attenborough as a personal thank you for the impact he’s had on her life and career.

Danielle Tomlinson says growing up in the same county as Attenborough made his story feel especially meaningful, showing how a passion for wildlife can begin somewhere ordinary and go on to inspire the world.

Over the past year, Danielle’s work has raised around twenty-five thousand pounds for wildlife conservation.

Danielle told BBC Leicester's Ben Jackson why she wanted to pay tribute to the man who helped so many people connect with and care about the natural world.
