First Rutland Osprey chick of 2026 hatches
The first Osprey chick of 2026 has hatched at Manton Bay on Rutland Water.
The Rutland Osprey project says mum Maya has been busy caring for the new arrival since it hatched. The first feed took place at first light on 13th May.
Around half a million people have been keeping an eye on proceedings thanks to a new webcam fitted to the nest.
Tim Sexton from the Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust spoke to BBC Leicester's Ady Dayman.
