What actually went on in Norwich Castle dungeons?

Anyone who has grown up in Norfolk has most likely gone on a tour of Norwich Castle and its dungeons.

But the tours that took place in years gone by told us quite a different story of what went on in those dark underground rooms than what the tours tell us now.

So what is true, and what actually happened there?
