Worcester bridge police crash latest
West Mercia Police said a loose laptop was the cause of the incident, when a car hit the wall of the Grade-II listed structure.
The force has now admitted it happened when a work laptop became 'lodged in the steering column', meaning the driver was unable to control the vehicle.
An assessment of how best to repair the bridge is underway.
Tim Race reports.
