Rachel Brown on her African roots
Ethiopian-American singer and songwriter Rachel Brown is winning lots of praise in the United States for her sensual African-influenced love songs.
Born in New York to an Ethiopian mother, 26-year old Rachel Brown has just come out with a new collection of songs called The Band.
On a busy street in New York, she told BBC Africa’s Leslie Goffe that her music - like herself - is made up of many things, American and African.
