Alan Root's extraordinary life with animals
Pioneering wildlife film maker Alan Root told us about how he became the original action man of the wilderness.
Alan became the first person to film a cobra spitting in slow motion and capture hippos underwater - winning him many awards and an OBE.
He's also been victim of numerous attacks by animals but that has never lessened his love of the genre as he explains in his memoirs.
Ivory, Apes and Peacocks will be out later this month.
