The teacher who changed my life
John D'Abbro was described as an ‘out of control delinquent’ - until the kindness from a new teacher helped him turn his life around.
At 15, John D'Abbro was not in a good place. His parents had recently separated; he was struggling to read and write and was eventually excluded from the school for his disruptive behaviour.
Described as an ‘out of control delinquent’ – it took one person to convince him he could be someone else – someone extraordinary.
John tells Dr Sian Williams about getting into trouble at school, and how the kindness of others turned his life around.
