On Skye, sceptic Zara and fairy enthusiast Evelyn explore ancient legends, rituals and the mysterious Fairy Flag, uncovering folklore woven into the island’s history and culture.
On the Isle of Skye, fairy tales are more than just stories. From magical pools promising eternal youth, to ancient bridges said to connect our world with the supernatural, the island’s fairy folklore draws thousands of curious visitors every year. But is it all a clever tourist trap, or does something deeper lie behind the legends?
In this enchanting adventure, sceptic Zara joins folklore enthusiast Evelyn to investigate the mysteries of Skye’s fairy tradition. At the heart of their journey is Dunvegan Castle’s legendary Fairy Flag, an ancient relic said to have been gifted by a fairy and to hold the power to protect the MacLeod clan in battle. As they uncover dramatic tales of clan warfare, explore Gaelic songs and hear extraordinary stories passed down through generations, Evelyn and Zara discover a tradition woven into the island’s history, identity and culture.
Could there be more to the fairies of Skye than meets the eye? And will the promise of eternal youth finally tempt Zara to believe in a little magic?
