The Big Moon play live for Steve Lamacq

The Big Moon are in session for Steve playing tracks from their new album - Forever. Plus, Steve has first plays of new music from Heartworms and The Flaming Lips

The Big Moon are in session for Steve playing tracks from their new, fourth album - Forever. The album comes four years after 2022’s ‘Here is Everything’, and eight years since the band first formed. Whilst the previous album was shaped by new motherhood and the pandemic, this new album examines what’s left when you’ve already checked off many of the major milestones, and is tempered by a first-hand understanding of life’s fragility. Singer Juliette Jackson had a benign but destructive cyst inside her eardrum which resulted in permanent hearing loss in one ear. As such ‘Forever’ tries to focus on optimism, with her imagining a future - “I just decided to write songs for this imaginary time, one or two years in the future, when I would be all healed and happy again. I didn’t know if I would ever get to that point but, by projecting and almost tricking myself into it, it actually became a really nice way of writing.”

The band play live and chat with Steve in the final hour of the programme.

Alongside this, Steve has first plays of new music from Heartworms and The Flaming Lips and Editors talk us through the story of one of their massive singles in What's The Story.
