Colours of Autumn

The readers Anton Lesser and Josette Simon with poems and prose such as Keats and Emily Brontë, alongside music evoking autumn including Vivaldi, Butterworth and Elena Kats-Chernin

To mark the "season of mists and mellow fruitfulness", Radio 3's weekly selection of readings set alongside music links up with the mid morning programme Essential Classics. The readers Anton Lesser and Josette Simon bring us poems about apple picking, falling leaves, mushrooms and bird migration alongside music which includes suggestions from the Essential Classics audience who contribute to the daily playlister challenge at 11 each day. We'll hear compositions by Butterworth, Elena Kats-Chernin and Vivaldi and writing by Keats, Laurie Lee, Emily Brontë.

Produced by Helen Garrison and Robyn Read
