Schumann's Fantasie

The celebrated Argentine pianist Nelson Goerner plays a programme of improvisatory music and fantasies, including JS Bach's Toccata in C minor, Robert Schumann's highly virtuosic Fantasie in C, considered to be one of the greatest works for solo piano, and Schubert's passionate and dramatic Piano Sonata in C minor, composed in the last year of his life.

Recorded last month at Wigmore Hall in London, and presented by Sarah Walker.
