On the Northumberland coast, a 999 call comes in from a distressed woman whose husband is drifting out to sea on a paddleboard; the Seahouses crew race out to locate him.

In Moelfre, north Wales, when a crew member at the station spots a kayak capsizing, the lifeboat launches to pluck the fishermen from the water.

Out in the English Channel, a French vessel makes a distress call, alerting the Torbay crew.

And in Calshot, Hampshire, a sailing sloop has become stuck on one of the area’s notorious mudbanks - and is now taking on water.
