Half an hour of the finest classical music
Take time out with a 30-minute soundscape of classical favourites, including music by Purcell, Ravel and Britten.
Today's mixtape opens with stately viols in music by Purcell. Hot on its heels is some sprightly harp by Britten and Ravel's Tombeau de Couperin. This is followed by a mournful aria from Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin. Yearning music by Nico Muhly leads into a soothing piano prelude by Leokadiya Kashperova, which in turn melts into a postlude for violin and string orchestra by Henning Kraggerud. The mixtape ends with the pastoral Berkshire Idyll by Henry Balfour Gardiner.
