Requiem for America: Singing for the Invisible People

Tom Service presents the world premiere of Brent Michael Davids' Requiem for America: Singing for the Invisible People.

As its subtitle suggests, this work highlights the human cost of US expansion, which resulted in hundreds of Native American tribes being moved, manipulated or slaughtered. In the words of Davids – himself of Mohican heritage – ‘It sings about the invisibility of the Native people’ and represents ‘more than a piece of music – it’s a reckoning, a remembrance and a call to truth through the arts’.
