St Peter in Ropley, Hampshire

Bells on Sunday comes from of St Peter in Ropley, Hampshire. Records show that bells had hung at the site since the early 18th century but in 2014 the church suffered a devastating fire which resulted in the tower roof being destroyed. Though the bells were retrieved and the tower repaired three bells were badly damaged and required either repair or recasting. The tenor weighs fifteen hundredweight and is tuned to the note of F sharp. We hear a recording from the original bells ringing Double Oxford Bob Minor.
