A BBC Eye investigation has found that Instagram in India is running ads promoting child sexual abuse material — and making money from these ads. Some of the ads feature children who appear to be as young as seven or eight and link out to content on the messaging app Telegram. Reporter Divya Arya tracks down a former Meta executive-turned-whistleblower to find out how Instagram’s moderation system has failed to detect these ads — and, still searching for answers, confronts the head of Meta in India.
