Three hours of classical sparkle

Sarah Walker with the perfect playlist to accompany your Sunday morning, including music by Grieg, Beethoven, and Saint-Saëns.

This week, Sarah Walker's playlist travels across centuries and continents, featuring symphonic Beethoven at his most playful, a peaceful morning song by Elgar, and wedding celebrations in Scandinavia. There’s even an invitation to a glittering French house party…

Sarah’s Choral Reflection is the profoundly moving ‘In Paradisum’ by Ukrainian-born Estonian composer Galina Grigorjeva, blending mysticism with serenity. There’s also a chance to hear from one of music’s most ardent travellers, Saint-Saens, and his ‘Egyptian’ Piano Concerto in full.

Plus, with less than a week until the First Night of the Proms, Sarah looks ahead to the Proms she’s most looking forward to.

A Tandem Production for BBC Radio 3.
