Didcot

Episode 14 of 35

Chris Hull and Flo Headlam visit Didcot to transform a garden that has been abandoned to the elements into a Bridgerton-inspired garden with a safe play area for a family's three energetic boys.

Chris Hull and Flo Headlam are in Didcot to help Charlotte and Anthony transform their garden, which is overgrown and abandoned to the elements. Their plot has turned into the neighbourhood cats’ personal litter box, while a half-finished summer house looms large, taking up valuable space and adding to the overall air of neglect. Their dream? To turn this chaotic patch into a Bridgerton-inspired garden with a safe play area for their three energetic boys.

They want to create a child-friendly paradise, complete with a climbing frame, swing, monkey bars and slide to keep the boys entertained. For Percival, who has CHARGE syndrome and struggles with balance, the ground needs to be as level and accessible as possible.

Charlotte has always dreamed of a quiet seating area draped in wisteria, with a pergola providing a peaceful retreat. Privacy is also a top priority, as the garden is overlooked by neighbouring houses, and they would love a large paved area for summer entertaining. The unfinished summer house, left behind by the previous owner, dominates the sunniest corner. While they have the materials to finish it, they feel it is using up valuable space that could be better designed.

Can Chris and Flo create the garden of Charlotte and Anthony's dreams on a £6,000 budget?
