Jools welcomes the return of pop powerhouse Lola Young to perform her single From Down Here, produced by James Blake, who appeared on episode two of this series. Lola also performs d£aler from her previous top three album and chats to Jools at the piano.
From New York, making his debut on the show is Mike D 5D, who is best known as frontman of 1980s iconic hip-hop group Beastie Boys but is joined by his band 5D. They perform a couple of songs, including Switch Up, which was recorded at Mike’s home studio with his sons Davis and Skyler, who join him in the band. Jools also chats to Mike D at the piano.
Hailing from Washington DC and Fayetteville, North Carolina, is Grammy-winning artist Baby Rose who performs the track But, Nvm, taken from her album YEARNALISM, which pulls from soul, gospel, jazz, rock and R&B.
Jools also welcomes indie pop sibling duo Wasia Project, who perform their track 2515 from their debut album Nocturne, which alchemises their 'classical training with kinetic club-adjacent dance music, soulful electronica, and cinematic piano-pop' and is 'inspired by their dual Chinese and British heritage'.
Legendary American-born Canadian singer, composer and transgender activist Beverly Glenn-Copeland, along with his wife and producer Elizabeth Copeland, perform a song from their album Laughter In Summer, made together as 'a love letter to one another'.
Completing the musical line-up is musician and actor Will Oldham, also known as his persona Bonnie 'Prince' Billy. He performs the song They Keep Trying to Find You, taken from his 31st studio album We Are Together Again.
