A young photographer sets out to capture a local landmark, only to find himself drawn into a dark history that refuses to remain buried.

Commissioned as part of BBC Northern Ireland’s eleventh series of Two Minute Masterpiece, Gunsland follows photographer Riley as a simple school assignment leads him to document sites close to home.
Beginning at the abandoned Day Dawn boat on the River Foyle, Riley’s project takes him to the decaying grandeur of Boom Hall, where he captures an image that reveals more than expected.
Back in the darkroom, he develops an unsettling image prompting Riley to dig deeper into the history of the surrounding area. As fragments of the past begin to surface through flashbacks he becomes increasingly fixated on uncovering the truth. Compelled to return to Boom Hall, Riley finds himself drawn further into a story that lingers within its walls, where the line between past and present begins to blur.
