Episode 4
Marcus is on a mission to discover the French equivalent of British fish and chips whilst uncovering the secrets of the versatile Provençal olive.
It’s fair to say that when it comes to classic national dishes, the French and British like to do things differently. However, both have a passion for poisson. Forty-five per cent of French households eat fish at least once a week, and Marcus wants to find out what kind of fish they like and if there’s a French dish to rival the great British fish and chips.
If there's one fruit that might be even more synonymous with Provence than garlic, it's the olive. They’ve been grown here for over 3,500 years, and Marcus wants to understand the region’s passion for these tiny, versatile delights.
