While two teams of bargain hunters race around a huge antiques centre, host Charlie Ross learns about a driver who took the British motor racing scene by storm in the 1930s and 40s. In his hometown of Bourne, Charlie speaks to historian Peter Dobson about the high and lows of Raymond Mays’s extraordinary racing career.

Doing laps of the antiques centre in Kingston upon Thames are sisters Julie and Debbie, with their expert Jonathan Pratt, and married couple Jack and Amanda, with expert Kate Bliss. It turns out the sisters have come prepared, taking out their own jeweller’s loupes to get a closer look at a silver-plated dish!
