A defining voice of Bollywood for over eight decades, Asha-ji passed away in Mumbai on 12 April 2026 at the age of 92, marking the end of a legendary era in Indian cinema. Renowned for her incredible versatility, she recorded more than 12,000 songs in over 20 languages and was recognised as one of the most recorded artists in music history
