Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie present a feast of great music and chat for weekend breakfast.
Today, singer, songwriter and Super Furry Animals' frontman Gruff Rhys shares his ‘First, Last and Everything’ - that’s his first record, the most recent one he's enjoyed and the record that means ‘everything’ to him. He also discusses the band's forthcoming tour - their first in nearly ten years.
Super Furry Animals released their debut album 'Fuzzy Logic' in May 1996 and, 30 years later, the Welsh rock band will be on tour again. It will be their first shows together since December 2016.
Gruff has also had success as a solo performer, with albums including 2007's Candylion and 2011's Hotel Shampoo; has collaborated with a range of other artists on projects including the Mercury Music Prize-nominated Neon Neon; and has composed film music and made documentaries.
Also on the show... long-running feature ‘The Chain’, which gives listeners the chance to pick a track that links in some way to the last. The list now contains over 8,700 songs.
With a selection of music old and new to get the weekend started.
